Firefox...

is awesome but is starting to annoy me. Updates every week? Add-on incompatibilities every time?? Do they keep changing the Add-on API or does the version have to match, like Linux modules? Sheesh.

Window management learning curve

Many people can handle using one window at a time, such as a mail client. But introduce another window and the learning curve goes up significantly. Now they must learn how to switch between windows, and learn how the two interact with each other. I think the curve then flattens out until you hit about 7 windows, the average number of maximum items we can grok at one time (7 menu items, 7 digit telephone number, 7 fields on a form). After about 7, aperson has to not only know how to navigate between them, but also find the right one easily.

My point is - adding contacts to the left pane of a mail client is a good way to simplify the interaction of sending mail. I'm not saying there should not be a contacts window, just that mail should have the option of showing them.

Frets on Fire - Open Source Guitar Hero clone

Pick up your keyboard and rock out! It's just as fun as guitar hero, but a lot nerdier :) I'm going to try to get a competition going at work.

When 8.0 == 7.44

Of course when I go to fill my 8GB iPod nano with 8 gigs of music, I am show an alert that there is not enough room. Why? because I can only store 7.44GB in reality. The 560GB is for system stuff I guess, and lots of companies do that, but it's NOT COOL.

Monitor Sizes

Why even give them names at this point, WSXGA+ is harder to say than 1680x1050 (sixteen-eighty by ten-fifty).

Oh my god Yahoo 360 sucks so bad

It's hard to tell whos your friend, whos just on your contact list, who wants to add you as a friend vs yahoo trying to have you add friends from your IM list, the friends page doesn't show thumbnails, the whole thing is just a mess. Just thought I'd share my thoughts :)

Verizon Wireless Broadband

is sweet! I'm on the bus going 55mph watching youtube videos and downloading the latest Java JDK. The connection says 230Kb, it and does seem pretty snappy. I degrades a bit when in motions, but nothing painful. Ok, it's back to youtube for me :)
