...I say... "no". Next :)

Taking a break from Battlefield 2...

I was starting to play Battlefield 2 even when I didn't feel like it or when I was bored. That's what they call addiction. :) Now I try to be somewhat constructive - playing guitar on ninjam.com, reading a book, chatting online, exploring music on irate radio, etc. I'm not much of a TV watcher except for Adult Swim, so that's good. Telling friends I fragged a bunch of dudes last nice just doesn't sound very exciting. :)

Check out iRate radio

What it does is download independent and/or creative commons music, and let you play and rate songs. Some songs are really good, and some are, well, not so good. For me it's worth findings songs in different genres that I may not have found otherwise. Another plus is that it's cross platform.

If your Windows task list has a bunch of non-descript names, you can find out what they're for and if you can safely remove them.

EA patch problem found, thanks 'Ponster'

[The EA workaround for this is to edit this key in the registry :

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersionProgramFilesDir

It points to "C:\Program Files" by default.

If you change the value to "E:\Program Files", the patch will look for 3000 MB free space on drive E instead of C.]

Does EA Tech Support speak (write) English??

After a couple back and forth messages between me and EA support about installing the latest Battlefield 2 patch, I got this one - which seems to be written by some guy in Russia(?). And of course, has nothing to do with my problem.

"Hello,

Thank you for contacting Electronic Arts. I’m sorry for the inconvenience.

Battlefield 2 is not compatible with any language but English while installing patches. Please, follow the following steps which can possibly resolve the issue.

---> Press Start - Right click on 'My documents' - properties
---> What you need is direct under 'accommodation of a final folder' (smth like that, have Rus version of XP)
---> Path to your documents must be all in english, change it to, for example like C:\Documents and Settings\User\My
documents (inc your username) and don't forget to copy your Battlefield 2 profile files in it or you won't be able to
log into your account.
---> at install location screen
C:\Documents and settings\YOUR USER NAME\my documents\(INSERT ) Battlefield 2\Patch_x.xx
---> Run Patch

Please let me know if the steps resolve your issue.

Should you require further assistance about this or any Electronic Arts games in the future please visit our website and review our extensive Self Help knowledgebase (http://support.ea.com)"
